About Emaan's Kitchen
Hello, friend. So glad you're here.
I'm Emaan, the recipe developer, writer, and photographer behind this blog. I was born in Gujranwala, Pakistan, spent my childhood and teenage years there, and moved to the United States, where I now live in Missouri.
I grew up in a big joint family. Parents, siblings, cousins, and chachoos (uncles), all of us under one roof, and the kitchen always at the center of it. I started cooking as a teenager alongside my mom, my api (older sister), and my dadi (paternal grandmother). That's where the foundation of everything I know began.
After I moved abroad, I started experimenting a little. Access to new ingredients and new cuisines will do that. But Pakistani food is still what I cook most, and it's what I love sharing here.
Every now and then I'll try something outside my usual lane, but even then, the spices, the techniques, the instincts are all Pakistani. If it earns its place, it makes it onto the blog.

What You'll Find Here
Pakistani recipes, made the way they're actually supposed to taste. Everything here is rooted in the flavors I grew up with in Pakistan.
Some popular recipes you'll find here:
You'll also find Indian recipes here from time to time. Pakistani and Indian cuisines share a lot of history, and many dishes exist in both. When I do share an Indian recipe, it's still made with Pakistani spices, methods, and instincts. That's the flavor that runs through everything on this blog.
A lot of people think Pakistani and Indian food are the same thing. The dish names overlap, and I get why it's confusing. But growing up eating Pakistani food and then trying those same dishes at restaurants in America, the difference is real. Even many Pakistani restaurants here have Indian chefs, so what you're getting is often not the taste I grew up with. You may have tried tikka masala or chicken karahi before, but probably not the Pakistani version.
That's exactly why I started this blog. To share the South Asian food I know best, made the way it's supposed to taste.
Behind This Blog
We’re a team of two! My husband, Hassaan, and I run this blog together. I make the recipes, and he handles everything on the technical side from managing the website and SEO to handling social media. In fact, this entire website was built by Hassaan from scratch!

But his most important (and favorite) role? Being the official taste tester!
Most of the time, you’ll find him with a coffee in hand, making sure everything is running at its best.
You can find easy, delicious, and approachable recipes for every level in our recipe index!
